Ryan Obiso, Delaware Valley

The senior running back led the way as Delaware Valley repeated its Lackawanna Football Conference Division 1 title, produced the school’s first perfect regular season, won the District 2-4 Class 6A Subregional title and advanced to the state tournament. … Carried 230 times for 1,809 yards and 25 touchdowns. … Ran for a career-high 364 yards against Scranton. … Averaged 9.7 yards per carry, 180.9 yards per game and 2.9 touchdowns per game over his final 7 games. … Also contributed defensively from his linebacker position as Delaware Valley’s third-leading tackler after leading the team last season. … Helped Delaware Valley remain as District 2’s number-one Big School in the NEPAFootball.com Super Six for every week of the season.




Adrian Otero, Hazleton Area

The senior linebacker led Hazleton Area to its first winning season (8-4) and first district or subregional playoff win since 2009. … Made team-high 124 tackles, including 16 in a District 2-4 Class 6A Subregional semifinal win over Williamsport. … Ranked second on team in rushing and receiver as a fullback. … Was also an all-District 2 linebacker last season. … Had 16 tackles in playoff win over Williamsport and 15 in two-point, regular-season loss to Millionaires.




Nick Shoemaker, Dunmore

The senior was a two-way Lackawanna Football Conference Division 3 first-team, all-star lineman for the second straight season, leading division and district championship efforts both seasons. … Was named LFC Division 3 Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and division Lineman of the Year this season. … Made 26 tackles for losses this season. … Helped lead defense that produced six straight shutouts in the middle of the season. … Was key a blocker for running game that produced 5.9 yards per carry and 193.9 per game.





Jack Henzes, Dunmore

The second-winningest coach in state history, behind only the late George Curry, helped the Bucks lead all District 2 teams in wins with 14, making Dunmore the last team standing from the district with an appearance in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 2A state semifinals. … Led Dunmore to its 43rd straight LFC divisional win, seventh straight division title and fourth straight District 2 Class 2A championship. … Improved career records to 404-148-8 in 48 seasons at Dunmore and 421-159-8 overall for 52 seasons, including 4 at Wyoming Area. … In an era of higher-scoring games, guided the Bucks through a streak of six straight shutouts. … Kept the Bucks ranked first among Small Schools in District 2 in the NEPAFootball.com Super Six for every week of the season.
